Chaakri is an outstanding organisation that employs rural women to make khakras, hence giving them a life of financial security and dignity. Most women at Chaakri are victims of domestic abuse or widows and come from challenging backgrounds.

As of Feb 15th, 2009, the campaign has raised Rs. 12.69 lacs with 230 volunteers taking a pledge to raise for the cause.
