About the organisation

Established in 1831 and renovated in 1847, this non-profit organization was formed with the purpose of housing old and destitute people. For the past 150 years, the institute has been taking the responsibility of feeding, housing and taking care of senior citizens. The institution regularly organizes events such as picnics, movies, facilitation with skill upgradation, etc so as to actively engage the residents. All the basic requirements such as food, shelter, clothing and medicine are taken care of. As of now, there are a total of 180 occupants at J J Dharamshala.

What did we do?

A musical celebration accompanied by the distribution of chocolates and singing was carried on by us. The most notable of whom was singer-guitarist Ravi Iyer, who took us back to memory lane with retro songs such as “Kya hua tera vaada”, “Mere sapno ki rani" etc. There were quite a few impromptu performances, but the one that will be cherished the most was Anthony Uncle’s rendition of "Sar jo tera chakrayein". We came back with a bag full of memories and blessings.
