Ashray came into existence with a purpose of providing the children in need with a better life. It has been providing a home-like environment and helping the children of HIV positive individuals live a dignified life since many years now. Located in Bandra, it is a home for 28 young beautiful souls.

We visited Ashray to meet and spend some time with the children. Aashray houses children of HIV positive parents. Some of the children there our HIV positive too.

They were one of the most fun loving and energetic bunch of children. We started off with playing ‘Passing the parcel’ which then soon turned to ‘Dog and the Bone’, ‘Tug of War’, ‘Push ups” and a general chaos which we embraced . The session ended with the children enjoying donuts, biscuits and chocolates.

Even though we couldn’t take pictures of the children due to sensitivity issues, those smiles are forever engraved in our hearts.
